  • Junior Release and Change Management Engineer required to work within a well-established European IT team, supporting the ongoing development and implementation of pan-European business systems. Working as part of an agile development team the Release Engineer will assist the Change & Release Coordinator with the compilation, deployment and release for a range of enterprise solutions, including those built in-house using Microsoft technologies. In addition, the Release Engineer will assist with the change management administration for these systems.

    Responsibilities:-
    This role will primarily consist of supporting the Change & Release Coordinator with release and change management.

    Duties will include:
    " Selecting and compiling various source code artefacts to produce specific versions of various systems and solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio
    " Tracking software changes in a source code control and project tracking systems
    " Preparing deployment packages and deploying them to appropriate locations and/or organisations
    " Preparing and issuing release notes
    " Coordinating with Development, QA, Service Desk and Management to ensure software releases are correctly configured and delivered on time
    " Administrative duties for change management - maintaining change log, preparing and distributing change schedule and other periodical status reports, etc.
    " Assisting the team in:
    - Improving practices and procedures;
    - Enhancing standards, collateral and service offerings.
    - Liaising with customers, team members, project managers and 3rd parties.
    - Participating in mentoring activities to improve skills and knowledge.

    Technical Skills:-
    Essential
    " Basic knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework, C#, Web Services, and IIS.
    " Basic knowledge and experience of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 IDE.
    " Basic skills and knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
    " Basic knowledge of Microsoft client and server operating systems & technologies
    " Knowledge & experience of an agile development framework such as Scrum, XP, Lean.
    " Awareness of agile techniques such as continuous integration, automated unit testing, etc.
    " Language skills: English - business level for spoken & written, German - conversational.

    Desirable
    " Experience of release engineering, release management, change management
    " Experience and/or knowledge of ITIL approaches to change and release management
    " Basic ITIL knowledge, V3 Foundation certification
    " Experience in Object Oriented architectures and approaches.
    " Competency in other European languages - French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, etc.
